Chelsea is gearing up for a massive summer overhaul, and newly appointed manager Xabi Alonso has his eyes locked on one primary target: Galatasaray’s prolific striker, Victor Osimhen.
The Alonso Factor
Following his arrival at Stamford Bridge, Alonso is determined to rebuild the Blues' attacking line. The Spanish tactician favors an aggressive, physically dominant number 9 for his transition-heavy system. Believing Osimhen is the perfect fit, Alonso’s presence alone could be the catalyst needed to lure the Nigerian star to London.
Bad News for Galatasaray?
Osimhen has been an absolute sensation in Turkey. After arriving from Napoli for €75 million, the 27-year-old has amassed a staggering 59 goals and 16 assists in just 74 matches over two seasons. His lethal form recently helped Galatasaray secure their 4th consecutive Super Lig title.
Naturally, Galatasaray is desperate to keep their superstar. Reports suggest the Turkish giants will demand a fee in the region of €100 million (£85 million) before even sitting at the negotiating table.
Talks Are Already Underway
Despite the hefty price tag, Osimhen’s representatives are actively assessing top-tier opportunities across Europe. While Barcelona and Real Madrid are monitoring the situation, Chelsea remains the frontrunner.
The Blues desperately need a reliable goalscorer who can guarantee 25+ goals a season—a void left empty since the golden days of Diego Costa. With Xabi Alonso now at the helm, Chelsea’s pursuit of Victor Osimhen is expected to accelerate rapidly.
