Europe’s elite clubs are lining up to sign Galatasaray’s powerhouse striker Victor Osimhen. While Paris Saint-Germain intensifies its pursuit, Galatasaray’s board and president are firmly resisting any temptation to sell their prized superstar.
Luis Enrique Eyeing the Nigerian Ace
Paris Saint-Germain has placed Osimhen at the very top of their summer wishlist. PSG manager Luis Enrique is actively searching for a physically dominant, direct "number 9" to fix the squad’s attacking efficiency in the Champions League. The French giants are reportedly willing to significantly increase their previous €75 million transfer budget to secure him, though an official bid has yet to be tabled.
PSG is not alone; Chelsea, Barcelona, and Real Madrid are also keeping a close eye on the striker. Adding to the frenzy, former England international Chris Waddle recently urged Newcastle United to break the bank for Osimhen to fill the void left by Alexander Isak's move to Liverpool, claiming the forward's quality is "above the Turkish league".
Dursun Özbek: "He is Not for Sale"
Despite the astronomical figures circulating in European media, Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek completely shut down the rumors during a live broadcast on May 21.
"We are absolutely not thinking of selling him," Özbek stated unequivocally. "Setting a price for a player you don't intend to sell is like buying clothes for an unborn child."
Reports indicate that Galatasaray would refuse to even sit at the negotiating table for anything less than a staggering €120 million. Fortunately for the fans, Nigerian media outlets claim that Osimhen loves life in Istanbul and has no desire to leave the club at this stage.
The Behind-the-Scenes Mega Deal
President Özbek also shed light on the intense financial gymnastics required to permanently trigger Osimhen’s €75 million release clause from Napoli earlier. Due to incredibly strict collateral procedures demanded by the Italian side, Özbek revealed that he personally provided €35 million directly from his own company to finalize the historic transfer.
Osimhen completely repaid that monumental investment on the pitch. Despite suffering a fractured right forearm against Liverpool in the Champions League that kept him sidelined for six weeks, the 27-year-old returned in April to spearhead Galatasaray's charge to their fourth consecutive Süper Lig title. He wrapped up the 2025-2026 season with a spectacular 20 goals and 8 assists in 32 official appearances.
